New Chapbook launched!

Terry’s chapbook entitled the stars, your eyes has been launched by Shanti Arts Publishing in February, 2026.

Recent Awards

For the second time, Terry won an honorable mention in the yearly Passager poetry contest. Her work will be published in the September 2026 journal.

For two years in a row, Terry won First Place in the statewide Alaska Writers Guild annual poetry contest. Her 2024 winning entry is entitled “Fusion.” Her 2023 winning entry entitled “Astronomy” is included in her new chapbook, the stars, your eyes.

Terry has also won a finalist designation in the 2023 Cirque journal.

Readings

Terry is available for readings at libraries, school classrooms, senior centers, museums, book clubs, parks and cafes!

She has been a featured reader at many venues in Massachusetts including All Small Caps, the Amherst Poetry Festival, the Collected Poets Series, Great Falls Word Festival, the Literary Arts Series in Westborough, the Massachusetts Poetry Festival, the Plymouth Center for the Arts–Art of the Word, Straw Dog Writer’s Guild Author’s Showcase and the Unbuttoned Poetry Series. Terry has also read at the Herman Melville House, the Lilly Library, the Berkshire Botanical Gardens and the Emily Dickinson Homestead Museum.

Wednesday, August 19, 2026  Terry will be the featured reader for Poetry Parley.  She will read her own work and poems by her “poet of influence,” Rita Dove, from 6 to 8 p.m., Organic Oasis Cafe, Anchorage, Alaska.

Friday, May 15, 2026  Terry’s books were featured at the Homer Book Fair from 5-9 p.m. at the Aspen Hotel, Homer, Alaska.

Wednesday, April 15, 2026  Terry participated in a National Poetry Month Event sponsored by 49 Writers, Poetry Parley and Cirque Press at the Organic Oasis Cafe, Anchorage, Alaska

Wednesday, April 16, 2025  Terry read in a celebration to honor Tom Sexton, former beloved state poet laureate, at Poetry Parley, Writers’ Block Bookstore and Cafe, Anchorage, Alaska.

Tuesday, March 4, 2025 Burning Bright Podcast of the Passager Journal featured Terry’s poem Late Winter, Early Spring in an episode highlighting poets who have done volunteer service.  Terry served as an USAID English teacher for two summers in Tbilisi, Georgia. Wednesday, January 29, 2025  Winter’s Dark – An evening of storytelling, sponsored by the nationally known group Yarnslingers. Terry read her poem “Sanctuary, 1945” accompanied by haunting improvised piano music which set the scene in World War II.  A unique reading experience in Anchorage.
